This East Yorkshire colour scheme introduces a special page for all your requirements for assistance, information, or anything else that our readers may be able to provide. Buy, sell, ask, offer, request - anything you like in connection with our Classic Buses theme.

Email your ad to me here. It's all free. Adverts normally stay up for about 3-4 months, unless the advertiser asks to remove it sooner.

In order to avoid folk getting spam from having their email addresses published on this page, I add a space after the '@' symbol. So john@smith.com becomes john@ smith.com. You will have to remove the space yourself before emailing the advertiser. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it will hopefully save folk getting their addresses picked up by nasty robots, and their mailboxes filled with adverts for strange things...

*************  !!!!!! BEWARE !!!!!! *************

CAUTION!

1. Beware of scam emails offering to send you a cheque for more than the amount you asked for. The buyer then asks for a refund of the excess, and you subsequently discover that the original cheque has bounced.

2. History has proved that ALL inquiries from Nigeria regarding items advertised on this webpage are scams! Ignore them all.

3. Be wary of bad English, reversible names (Chris James / James Chris), or unlikely names (Elvis, Napoleon etc).

4. Finally, do not reveal your bank account details over the Internet to people you do not know.

There are a lot of idiot scammers around. Here's the latest list. Please let me know if you get any more.

VEHICLES FOR SALE

Bedford WTB for sale

25 seat Bedford WTB/Duple coach, new to Sheasby, South Dorset Coaches in October 1937. Acquired by the late Adge Cutler (of Wurzels fame) and his brother c.1968 and rallied for several years, later passing to a group based in the Forest of Dean. Returned to Dorset in 1985 to join the fleet of Cattistock based operator Pearce, Darch and Willcox. During a thorough restoration, the timber body framing was largely replaced and the coach was re-certified for psv use. Acquired by the present owner in April 1992 and used for weddings and vintage tours until retirement from psv operation in 2017. A very practical coach to use for wedding hires etc, and as a pre-1947 registration, it is exempt from the tachograph requirement - a useful consideration.

For further information, e-mail John at bumpybuses@ gmail.com (remove the space after "@"), or phone 0776 2966401. Click here for some photographs of this coach. (1/24)

Bedford OB for sale

Much loved and cherished 1951 Bedford OB 29 seater Duple Vista bodied coach. Nice original condition, both inside and out. It has never needed re-upholstering or re-panelling. Painted blue and blue with a cream flash. This coach has also been featured on TV and in film. 1 family owned from new. Mechanically sound and ready to go. £27,500. Contact Mike at mikebostoncooper@ gmail.com(remove the space after "@"). (6/23)

Leyland Atlantean for sale

An exceptionally rare opportunity to purchase a 1982 Greater Manchester Transport Leyland Atlantean, registered SND 501X. This bus is in perfect running order, and attracts attention wherever it travels. It has recently been seen at the Llandudno Transport Festival and the Chatsworth Historic Bus event, where it performed free scenic rides with a full load faultlessly. It was recommissioned a couple of years ago and is dry stored. The interior is commensurate with its age and the seats are unrestored and presented in out-of-service condition. The bodywork is excellent for its age. Naturally there are many age-related minor blemishes as this is a classic vehicle. The bus has, in May 2023, passed into Historic tax class, but has a Class V MOT valid until April 2024.

The bus can be inspected in Cheshire by arrangement, but to arrange an inspection you must first contact me and demonstrate that you are a serious buyer with cleared funds. The sale will be cash or bank transfer only, and the vehicle will only be released on clearance of funds. Offers for its purchase must be made by email giving your full contact details. Please email to request a phone conversation regarding the bus as I am not putting a phone number in the ad to deter time- wasters. It is exceptionally rare for these vehicles to come to the market and you will not be disappointed with this bus. This is a private sale. Contact Darren at snd501x@ gmail.com(remove the space after "@"). (6/23)

Bristol VRT for sale

A Hants and Dorset Bristol VR convertible 74 seater dating from 1977 bus and registered UFX 860S. At present the roof is on, but the bus comes with all the equipment to convert it to open-top. Saved from the breakers yard in 2005 by its current owner. The bus is fitted with a Gardner engine and is in good order, as is the gearbox. Bodywork described as showing signs of age. New stainless steel fuel tank straps fitted. Interior is in good order, and the bus needs someone with the time to carry out some small mechanical repairs and get it up to to top spec. Asking price around £10.000. Contact Dave Upton at skyman1313@ msn.com(remove the space after "@"). (6/23)

AEC Regent V for sale

AEC Regent V ex Eastbourne Corporation number 68, registration KHC 368. East Lancs rear platform 70 seater bus. Most seats are re-trimmed in vinyl although some remain in leather, but will need re-covering at some point. Retrofitted with an electric fuel pump. This is a well known vehicle around the Sussex rally scene and as such is ready to go, drives really well. I do have an Eastbourne original blind for it, but it will need new winding gear in the front as it is missing. It has always been kept under cover in our care. Contact Charlie at charlie.lemon@ hotmail.co.uk(remove the space after "@"). (5/23)

INFORMATION / PICTURES WANTED

One of my wife's relatives was a classic bus enthusiast, in fact any historic transport. He went to many events and had a vast collection of books and magazines. Sadly he died last year and my wife and I are executors of his Will which we have now obtained Grant of Probate. One of the beneficiaries specified for a small sum of money was someone called Dave Maguire. We have a phone number but it is not an active number. No address. All we know is that he lived SW London area, possibly as far out as Staines or even beyond, but he was also a classic bus enthusiast. Email Ian at i.kershaw101@ btinternet.com (remove the space after "@") (12/23)
